THE PREMIER'S VISIT.
TO THK EDITOR OF THK PBESS. Sir.—lf nothing else, the respected and deservedly popular senior member for Chn*tchurch (Mr Lewis) deserves to be complimented for arousing Mr Seddon to the necessity (?) of addressing the Christchurch electors. Three hours with the "handle turned on" should be sufficient for the most exacting, and we are to have the full satisfaction of witnessing the operation. The erstwhile banquet and "The Wearing of the Green" will probably be the finale. Mr T. E. Taylor must be extremely obliged to Mr Seddon fot condescending to speak in our midst, more particularly in view of Mr Seddon's remarks anent Mr Taylor's action in reference to the Old Age Pension Bill. Of Mr T. E. Taylor the Premier said—"ln a sense the hon." member did support the Bill and help the Bill, because he left us for a time, and during his absence in Christchurch the Bill made very rapid progress. In that respect I must now say the hon. member by bis absence did support the Bill." Very "complimentary" to our junior member. It is evident, to gain his own ends, that Mr Seddon will use every "tricky" means possible. What does Mr T. E. Taylor think? —Yours, 4c, ELECTOR. Addington, 13th June, 3298.
