FOOTBALL.

A meeting of the Referees' Association was held at the Clarendon Hotel last night, when Mr A. E. White presided. Six new members were elected, A letter was received from the New South Wales Referees' Association giving several rulings by their Association. It was decided that rule 11, section (c) should not apply, as it was already provided for in rule 8l" It was decided to refer law 11 to the New Zealand Rugby Union for their decision. Several other points of discussion in the rules were dealt with and the meeting adjourned.

The football matches to be played at Lancaster Park to-day should be very interesting. Sydenham, after the good form shown last Saturday, should give the champion team, Linwood, a good game. The Merivale-Christchurch game should also prove a close contest. Albion play Kaiapoi on the country club's ground.
