ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES,
A CHILD KILLED.
A little girl, aged about seven years, daughter of Mi , Fryars, of Springfield, near Temuka, was run over near Mr Coira's residence, Arowhenua, yesterday morning by a spring dray laden with wheat, and driven by James Roddick, a carter in the employ of Air T. Gunnion. The child had been hanging upon the tailboard of one dray, and let go her hold, and the other dray coming ug before she could get out of the way, or the "driver pull up, one wheel passed over her groin and part of her body. The child shortly afterwards expired.
The body of the girl Mary Sears, who has been missing from her home since 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 2nd, was found by % man named Lane at 10 a.m., to-day, on the New Brighton beach, about two miles from the estuary. The body, which is very much decomposed, is now lying at the New Brighton Hotel awaiting the inquest. A post mortem examination will be made by Dr. Symo3 this morning. The inquest is to take place at half-past eleven o'clock.

AUCKLAND, June 10. A blind native has been burned to death in bis whare in the King Country. Stanley Bell, twenty, son of Thos. Bell, manager of the Union Soap and Candle Works, was bicycling to business this morning when his machine struck a stone. He was thrown with great force and received concussion of the brain. He is unconscious. WELLINGTON, June 10. A Chinaman, who was picked up drunk this week with a wound on his head and fined at the Court, died suddenly in the hospital this evening. INVERCARGILL, June 10. Two sudden deaths occurred last night. Gardner Swhan, aged twenty-one years, a clerk in the Bank of Australasia, attended a football match yesterday. In the evening ho complained of being unwell, and expired sudd enly from paralysis of the brain. Mr G. M. Bell, the proprietor of the Wantwood Station, who had beenailirtg from influenza, died unexpectedly last night.
