PRIVATE THOS ROBINSON
(Hon. Reserve Corps, Ohristchurch).
Private Robinson, who has just secured third place for the championship of the colony, is a well-known figure iv the New Zealand shooting world, although previous to this year he has done nothing startling. He has attended the Association meetinge for several years, end his name is generally to be found upon the prize sheets of the matches. Previous to this season he has for a long' time adopted the?* back f " position, and it was, therefore, thought that as that position had been abolished at 600 yards, he would stand no chance for prizes. He is a commercial traveller, and his occupation gives him the chance of practice on many ranges, of which he hae during the last two years taken full advantage. He was till two years back a member of the Christ' church Uity Guards, and in that corps and the Chrifltchurch Rifles he learned his shooting. Hβ has represented both these corps at the Association meetings, bat it was not till he joined the Honorary Reserve Corps ana. got alongside the cracks that be developed hie present fine form. He hoe in hie time beaten such men as Wakelin, Banks, Harris, McKay, and others when they were in their best form. He is a brother of the redoubtable "Possible" Robinson, who created such a sensation the first year the Association instituted possible prizes.
