HAWKE'S BAY.

Napikr, March 14. At the Recreation Ground on Saturday, No, 1 wicket was occupied by the representative team which ia shortly to visit Auckland.

Mr H. Williams selected a- team to battle against the representatives who went to the wicket first and ran up a total of 213, the chief contributors being F. Laws 39, Lnsk 37, and Marshall 30. Owing to want of time Mr Williams' combination were unable to complete their innings, their score being 59 for the loss of three wickets, the principal run getter being Wilson not out 24. The team leaves for Auckland to-morrow night by the Manapouri.
