AUCKLAND.

Auckmsd, March 14. The weather held fine on Saturday afternoon, when the seventh round ot Association Cup matches was brought to a conclusion. In spite of tbe favourwhlr? state of the turf, however, the scoring was, on the whole, indifferent, and seven*! of the best batsmen failed rather badly at the wickets.

The Auckland Eleven failed to get anywhere near Parnell's first innings total of 145, as when the last wiokot fall they had only put together 82, of which T. NeiU made 20 andG. Stevenson 12. H. Lusk took five wickets for 49 and Bnerly three for 8. Pamell commenced their second innings and had scored 74 for the loss of four wiokets when time was called. Three of these wickets fell in the last two overs, when P.. NeiU went on to bowl, for 5 runs. Pamell won the match on the first innings by 62 runs.

As generally expected, the task of topping United';? first innings total, 260, proved too big for the Gordonites, who could only reach 129. Kissling was top scorer with 30, while Seccombe made 24 and Sawbridge'-l. Having to follow on Gordon had lost five wickets for 67 when stumps were drawn, Kallender making 26 and Ford 21. United thus won on the first innings by 131 runs. For the wioners Walton took four wickets lor 27 and Stemson five for 70, and in the second inuings C. Hay four for 20.

North Shore were beaten on the first innings by Auckland Fifteen by 30 runs. The Shore's innings when completed only realised 60 rans. G. Mills carried tbe score from 24 to 49 and his wicket was still intact when his last partner succumbed. St. Paul got seven wickets for 34. In the second innings Auckland made 135, Allen heading the list with 40. Burgess, bowling for tbe Shore, took five wickets for 24, and G. Mills seven for 47.
