! A match was fired at the Bromley range yesterday morning between teams of the Dunedin and Canterbury Engineers. J-he conditions were 200, 390 and 500 yards, seven shots. The boisterous weather and tricky light made anything like good shooting impossible. The highest score on the range was put up by Sapper Lightfoot (Canterbury), 79. Mr Allan McLean, of Waikakahai, has presented the Waimate Rifle Volunteers with a handsome trophy, to take the place of the McLean cup, whioh was last year won by Captain Grant. The trophy was from the establisinent of Messrs Petersen and Co., Christchuroh.
