LAWN TENNIS.
On Boxing Day, a number of players 01 the Linwood Lawn Tennis Club journeyed to Rangiora to try conclusions with the local representatives. The games were well contested, the Linwood club winning by a majority of 42 games. The visitors were hospitably entered at a luncheon -at the Junction Hotel, and at the courts afternoon ■ tea was kindly dispensed by Mrs Baber. The following are the results :—Singles— Baber (R.) beat Barlow (L.), 9—6 ; Ferguson (L.) beat Gower (R.), 9—5; Kiver (L.) beat Good (Goggles, R.), 9—B; Moor (L.) beat Cumberworth (R.), 9—4 ; Mayne (L.) beat Volckman (R.), 9—B; Strange (L.) beat Daniels (R.), 9—4 ; Nicholson (L.) beat Reeves (R.), 9—2.
