SCHOOL TOURNAMENT.

Some interesting contests will be played in Christchurch beginning next Saturday, when the first match in the tournament between Wanganui Collegiate School and Wellington and Christ's Colleges will take place. On Saturday Wanganui Collegiate School meets Christ's College. On Tuesday Christ's College meets Wellington. College, and on Thursday or Friday Wanganui Collegiate School play Wellington College. All the matches will be played on the Christ's College ground. Wellington College have been the champions for the last three years, and the other schools will use every effort this year to displace them from the premier position. They all adopt a very fast, open style of play, and some first class games may be expected.

A benefit football match takes place at Lancaster Park to-morrow afternoon. It has been arranged by tlie bootmakers for the assistance of one in the trade who, through illness, is unable to work. The match is between a team from the bootmakers and a Thursday combined team, the thirty players including mauy from the principal local Clubs. The annual match between the Post and Telegraph and Railway teams takes place at Lancaster Park to-morrow afternoon.
