ASHBURTON JUNIORS v. SB. SAVIOUR'S. The annual match between these Club* took place at Sydenham on Anniversarj Day, and resulted in a win for the visiting team by 47 runs. A singular feature of the match was the fact that in Sydenham's first innings after Hutchings had made 10 runs the remaining ten men were all despatched With the unenviable "duck" opposite their names, owing to the superior oowling of Marsden and Powell, the former especially, who was simply unplayable. The eoores were:— Sydenham —First,, 17; second, 32. Juniors—First. 60; second, 37. Both teams now claim two victories. A dinner was provided in the schoolroom to which ample justice was done, after which several complimentary and congratulatory speeches were made, and the Askburton team left for home. Foremost among the workers in connection with this match may be mentioned 'Mr Ferriman, of Ashburton, and the Rev. Mr and Mrs Scott, of Sydenham.

The following will represent the United Cricket Club in the Junior Cup match on Saturday:—Aitken, Blunden, D&y, Q. Reeves, W. Wood, V. Harman, Jameson, W. Harfcland, Webster, Macbeth, Maxwell. The following will represent the Cup:—Todhunter, Withers, Frankisb, J. T, Wilson, Mackley, Martin, Bowrin, Greason. Dunkley, C. Wood, Cardole.
