MOUNT HUTT.
The monthly meeting of the Mount Hutt Board was held on August 20th. Present— Messrs Morgan, Druramond, and McFarlane. Mr Holmes wrote apologising for his absence. It was decided to widen the etorm water crossing at Mr Cameron's, Chines; to accept J. Blair's tender for shingling McFarlane's road ; to shingle about a mile and a half of the Lyndhurst-Cairnbrae road ; to re-form a portion of the Back track; to clear the drift soil off the Highbank road ; to put an additional 300 yards of shingle on the Alford Forest road ; and to shinglo about ten chains of i*oad in Methven. The Chairman and Clerk were appointed to inspect the alteratioas made in the position of the sluice gate ou D race and to report. The Clerk was instructed to report on the state of the water-race crossings throughout the district, on the state of the Lauriston Barr Hill road, and on the cutting on tbe Redeliff road. Letters were received from the Receiver of Land Revenue advising payment of thirds; from the Paymaster-General advising payment of subsidy, and from the Land Board asking for proposals for the expenditure of thirds. It was decided to procure from the County Council a supply of poisouod grain, and to advertise the Board's intention to lay poisoned grain on the roads. Accounts amounting to £124 17s were passed for payment.
