EGGS FROM VICTORIA.

Victorian eggs seem to be giving satisfaction in the Euglish market, and there appears to be a prospect of establishing a permanent trade. A communication recently received by tho Agricultural Department from the Agent-General's office stated that there was uo fault to be fouud with tho eggs shipped by tho R.M.S. Australia, and it was s'.ated that they were realising frem 9s 6J to 10s 6d per long hundred (120). In order, however, to place the egg 3on the market iv the best possible condition, and with the object of getting them knowu as sound goods, and that they were " not merely for electicu purposes," Mr Jennes, a partner in the firm of Oetzes and Gerritsen, to whom the shipment was forwarded, had all the eggs " caudled *' and re-packed into cases the same siza as the Continental cases. The men who did tho "candling" found only five or six bad eggs in each case, which is a very good average. Mr Jennes considered that if all shipments from Victoria arrived in a similar condition to those sont by the Australia, and the quality was maintained, a profitable trade would result.
