BURWOOD.
The distribution of prizes took place on Friday. Mr Richardson, Chairman of the School Committee, presided. All in the infant department were awarded books, which were distributed by Mrs Richardson, after which the Chairman presented prizes to all who succeeded in passing the Inspector's examination. Three hearty cheers were given for the teachers and the Committee, Special piizes were awarded by Mesdames Dilloway, Roberts and Davidson, Misses Stanton and Wills, and by Mr Davidson. The following is the special prize list :—Sewing—Standard VI., May Turner 1 ; Standard V., Ethel Thomas 1, Bessie Byrne 2; Standard IV., J. White 1, Maude Byrne 2 ; Standard 111., E. Wolfe 1, J. Richardson 2, B. Turner 3; Standard 11., M. Bone 1, W. Bties 2, M. Parish 3 : Standard L, B. Grant 1, F. Nankivell 2, E. Cooper 3. Clasa marks—Standard VII., P. Alderaley and A. McLachlan equal; Standard VI., E. Thomas; Standard V., J. Thomas; Standard IV., P. Palmer ; Standaid 111., Cecil Thomas. Good conduct— Alice Harrison and Albert Ward.
