PRIZE DISTRIBUTIONS.
ST. MICHAEL'S CHURCH SCHOOL. The Vicar, before presenting the prizes on Thursday, referred to the satisfactory reports of Mr Baldwin and the Rev. J. F. Teakle, the examiners. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mrs Hawkes, Mrs Evans, Miss Barmand and Mias Hawkes for conducting the needlework class. The pupils presented Miss Hookham, the hoad mistress, with a copy of Balfour's " Foundations of Belief." The following is the prtze list:—Class VIL, Nellie Coombs; Class Upper V., Lilly Coombs, Agnes Simpson ; Class Lower V., Frank Goodhind ; Class IV., Frederick Boakes, Florence Boakes, Ivy Fuchs ; Class 111., Maud Buckingham, Maggie Fox, Josephine Wilkinson ; Class 11., Cora Barnden ; Class 1,, Willie Hastings, Athole Simpson, Alfred Doig. Infants, seven received prizes. Special prizes, presented by Mrs Evans—Religious knowledge, Nellie McClea; progress, May Weigel. Mrs Hawkes gave a number of handsome prizes for sewing, that for the highest number of marks being gained by Tessa Maine.
