The cricket season so far has been chiefly remarkable for the heavy scoring of some of the teams. The excellent Avickets provided haA*e been, perhaps, chiefly responsible for this.

Tho match between the Napier and Waiapu clubs, which was commenced on the Recreation Ground on the previous Saturday was continued on Saturday last. Waiapu continued their innings, and when the last Avicket fell, the respectable total of 206 runs hod been reached. Of this number Bennet played a splendid innings for 78, and Fannin made 46, Beale 26, Finch not out 13 and Parker 10. The Napier second innings only added up 62 runs, Wolstenholme, attain not out, being the only double figure. This left Waiapu victors by an innings and 49 runs.

The County-United match was continued j at Farndon Park. The United inerensed" their score to 272 (Marshall 53). The County men only knocked up 26 runs in their first attempt, but the second innines was much better, the last wicket falling with tbe score at 158. Taiaroa «{57), Williams (36), LeAvis (32), -Fraser (17), and Fenwick played good cricket for their runs, and helped to prevent the crushing defeat from being still more decisive. The game ended in a Avin for United by one innings and 88 runs. Cricketers will learn with regret that at a special meeting of the Napier Cricket Club a resolution was adopted to dissolve the club, and place its affairs in the hands of Messrs G. White and-F. Fnlton for liquidation. December 10. The Waiapu and County Cricket Clubs finished their Cup match at Farndon Park on Saturday. Waiapu's first essay was responsible for a total of 74 runs, Bennett and Gore, with 35 and 21 respectively, contributing the major portion of the score. The County men went to the wickets and were not all disposed of until 131 had been reached. T. W. LeAvis (37), White (25), J. A.'Fraser (21) and Friday Tomoana (21) were the double figure scorers. Waiapu in their second attempt made 110, Gore (13), Bennett (18), Beale (not out 19), Finch (16) and Parker (11) being the best of the batsmen. The County, with 56 to get to win, sent in Taiaroa and D'Emden. Both men batted well, and ran up a good score before a separation w as effected. Eventually the desired number of runs was obtained for the loss.of three wickets. Taiaroa (25 not out) and D'Emden (16) were top scorers. A junior cricket match between the Tradesmen and High School Clubs was played on the Recreation Ground on Wednesday, and after a very close game the Tradesmen Avon by 1 run. The scores were —Tradesmen 58 and 63, High School 47 and 73. The same clubs met again on Saturday afternoon, and the Tradesmen, going in first, gave their opponents some leather-hunting. When the score stood at 211 for three Avickets the innings was declared closed, and the representatives of the school took a turn with the willow. Severne laid the wood on in fine style for 47, and his colleagues all assisted valiantly, the score at call of time standing at 145 for nine wickets. For the Tradesmen, Seabright 84 and White 69 batted freely and well for their runs. A match was played at Hastings on Friday between teams representing the Licensed Victuallers of Napier and Hastings, Napier won by 62 runs, the scores being Napier 49 and 90, Hastings 34 and 43.
