After an interval of a month Senior Championship matches were resumed on Saturday last. In the contest between Wellington' and Phcenix, the former, who had lost four wickets for 48, continued batting and their first venture was brought to a close for 147, or 15 runs to the bad. Holdship was top scorer with 42, while R. Gore made 40, including a hit for 7 and three 4's, Strange 24 and Howell 19. The Phcenix batsmen made a poor show when they went in for a second time, and Benbow, who scored 34, was the only batsman to reach double figures, the innings closing for 59.
