AtTCKT.ANT>, December 9. Championship matches Avere continued on Saturday, but owing to rain play had to be discontinued early in the afternoon. Auckland met Gordon, and the first named Avent to the Avickets and put up 52 for six wickets. Stone, not out, 21, and Clayton, 10, were the only doable figures. In the Parnell-United match Parnell got 74 for the loss of one Avicket. Of this total Wright compiled 41 and Ohlson not out 25. There were 8 extras.
The selection committee of the Auckland Cricket Association (Messrs MacCormick, Wright and Yates) have chosen the following players to practise for our foreign contests : D. Clayton, E. J. Cotterill, W. Hawkins, I). Kttv, A. Kallendar, K. W. Lawson, Geo. Milk,"l. Mills. S. M. M-Pherson, R. Ncill, F. J. Ohlson, Dr. Pabst, Dr. Ramsay, C. E. Stone, W. T. Williams, K. Wright and W. T. Wynyard. The first practice match will be held on Tuesday next. The committee may make additions.
The Hawke's Bay reps have decided to visit Auckland, but the date of the match is not yet settled. They expect to meet Auckland" in the last Areek in December, or the first Aveek in JanuarA*.
