LINCOLN.
The ordinary meeting of this Board was wd on October 7th. Present—Messrs J. W. Overton (Chairman), P. Henley, Jas. StooUir, F. Watson, and Thos Leathern. *r C Barrett interviewed the Board and complained of the rough state of the tramway road. The Chairman said that during las last three years more money had been •pant on this road than upon any other three ™ the district, and still they were nob •ttisfied. The only way to "remedy this *a» to divide the district into wards, when ~J«y would have the pleasure ot rating Jaemselves to the utmost limit. Tho Board "tended ploughing the sides of the drain g»d which he trusted would satisfy Mr «Jtett for a time. Mr J. Sharp attended •«a asked why the drain through his planjttion was not cleaned %-hen the upper Portion of the drain was done. Mr Sharp *•» informed that this portion of the drain *M choked with roots from the trees in the Plantation, and this tho Board had decided g* to Uke out. Mr Sharp also asked the tn*S? t0 P- a -k a piece of the drain leading j* Townshond's drain, which tho flood *}*« «coured away. The Clerk was to attend to this. Mr McCarthy cwnded, and asked that tho culvert at *°*c* corner should be lowered a foot, he j°*™ng to share the cost. Agreed to. Mr J* "■ Miller presented a petition prayim. JW» new road from tho road by Morgan's, KWtfongh Messrs Feryman's and Rainey's -*rtiea, to connect with Stoddart's road. J Chairman said he was afraid the petii~?* rß would be disappointed, as the Board *W no power to close any road fronting on nver; and they had no funds to purchase jjj> land required. Re Morgan's land and J'wer's drain, the members agreed to *** «» the ground ou the 14th instant, j*™a a view to decide what work is absorj*'y necessary.
