TAI TAPU.
A meeting of the Board was held on Ootober 4th. Present—Mr Gilmour (Chairman), and Messrs Forbes, Herrick, and Lsfethom. Correspondence was received— From the Commissioner of Taxes, that the bfc-u.ee of subsidy due to the Board has been paid to their credit at the Bank. ftotn Messrs White and Co., quoting prices for timber. The Clerk intimated that Mr Rhodes had asked him to bring Wore the notice of the Board that he is willing to purchase part of the Canal Resecvo along Dunsford's Valley road, and also the cross road leading from the latter wad to Cerkin's road. It was resolved that this Board is willing to sell the pieces of road, &c, at a fixed price if practicable, provided that Mr Rhodes will also pay all ihe costs incidental thereto. Tbe Clerk *v instructed to have some repairs effected en the main road. The Chairman reported Wvinn seen the works asked for by Mr leathern, and recommended that a 6in pipe should bo inserted and the ditch oleaned ••ading to the Library road. This suggestion was approved of.
