RICCARTON TRAINING NOTES.
*"■"■■• ' Wednesday; . There were still a few .snow flakes descending when work on tua courso began, which was about 8 50. The grass track was thrown open for t'uo horses' engaged next week, and it was wonderfully solid going considering the rain that had Mien. The track, too, after having been harrowed, was in requisition on Tuesday afternoon, and a lot of cantering was performed on it. .One of the first to work this morning was Norton, and he ran three rounds at a good sound pace, moving freely and well. Triton''was associated with Mystical'in a round, the pair raciu* home over the last six furlongs; they finished well together, but the former seemed to hold the other. The Bfshop, a corky sort of customer, fiuished strong at the end of three circuits, while Glengarry and Boomerang covered a couple of rounds each at half-paca and threequarter. War Dance and Shanks came fast the last portion of their exercise; the former travels with determination and is evidently in good nick. Mutiny and Couranto, after going two miles steadily, were spun out over a round, the Steeplechase candidate jumping off in front, and haviog Couranto in trouble all the" way. Liberator was kept at steady work as was Miss Madge, but Royal, Rotoma and were given strong exercise. Sou Pest was, kept at steady pacing, while Dorfald McKinnon, who waa in good trim, finished up his task fast. Lascar, wich his owner up, accomplished strong worfe over two rounds, a3 did Pastime.
