ROAD BOARDS.
WEST EYBETON.
■ The monthly meeting was held on Bth January. Present—Messrs Addinell (Chair* man), Conway, Smith and Sheat. A letter was read from the Rangiora Borough Council, requesting this Board to uo-oporate with the other local bodies in getting the Rangiora Borough Council appointed to administer the Licencing Act of 1893, instead of the Kaiapoi Borough Council as proposed. The Clerk was directed to reply that if the placo of administration was shifted, this Board are of- opinion that either the Cuot or West Eyreton Road Boards would be the most central. It was resolved—That the fixed deposit of £200, maturing oa January 11th, with the interest thereon, b* brought to credit of ihe current account, and that £160 be placed at fixed deposit for six months. Mr Stephen Sheat proposed, and Mr John Smith seconded—" That a general rate of in the £ be levied on the rateable pro* perty of the West Eyreton. Road Board district for the period commencing on April Ist, 1893, and ending on March 31et, 1894, payable in one Bum, at the Board Board office, West Eyreton, from 10. a.m. until 4 p.m., on January 22nd, 1894." Carried, it waa resolved that the dog registration fee be for all sheep and cattle dogs 2s 6d, and all other doge 10s. The Clerk was direoted to obtain the necessary collars at last year's contract price, and the Board adjourned.
