MEETING OF THE ASSOCIATION.

A meeting of the'Xjoramittee.of the Canterbury Cricket. Association was held at the City Hotel last nighC Present—Messrs W. D. Meares (Chairman), T.D. Harman, R. D. Harmau, T. H; North, T. Wilding, L. A. Cuff, A. M. Ollivier, G. A. Treweek, Hon. E. C. J. Stevens, Mr. J. Fowke, delegate from Auckland, and Messrs H. McNeil, and F. Tf. Clayton, delegates from Otago. The business of the Committee whs to comer with the delegates concerning the proposed New Zealand match with Wales. The question was generally discussed, after which Mr Fowke informed the meeting that it was the wish of the Auckland Association that the.Canterbury Association should' have the entire management. of the match between New Zealand and New South Wales, including the selection of the New Zealand team,; provided "the Canterbury Association took the financial risk of profit and loss and defrayed the travelling and hotel expenses of the representatives chosen from outside Associations.

This was agreed to by the Ofcago delegates, who suggested, that, Mr. A. M. Ollivier should be asked to aa selector.

On the motion of Mr McNeilli, seconded by Mr .Fowke, it was.xesolved—"That, having heard the reports of tbe visiting delegates, this meeting affirms ' the wish expressed that the whole of the managements aud financial responsibility of the representative'match be left in the hands of the Canterbury Cricket Association, and that Mr A. M. Ollivier be requested to accept the position of selector of the New Zealand team. , " .''.'

Mr Ollivier consented to act,

It was further decided to communicate with the Wellington and Hawke'a Bay Associations on the subject asking. their co-operation,' and that Mr Ollivier should if possible visit all the representative matches before the one with Sydney, and that his travelling expenses should be borne by the Canterbury Association.
