CARISBROOK v MIDLAND.
The Cansbrook Clul* (Dnnedin) played the fiual match of their tour at Laucaster Park yesterday, when they defeated a team of the Midland Cauterbury CJnb by fifteen runs on the first iunings. It was originally intended to play a whole day's match, tut owing to the wet ..weather in the early morning the Captains, of the respective teams met and decided to postpone the commencement until 2.30 p.m. When a start was made the visitors went in to bat, but in a litUe over an hour the team was dismissed for the small total of 64. The home team fared even worse when they went in, and Lawton and Hope, the former of whom especially bowled well, got rid of the lot for the meagre score of , 49, McFarlane and Garrard alone making double figures. Carisbrook them commenced their second venture, and at the call of time had lost five wickets for 22 runs, Robertson coming out with the five average of four wickets for 3 runs. The fielding on both sides was good, and despite the wet the match proved an enjoyable one. The following are the scores :— CARISBKOOK. , First Innings. J. C. Lawton, b McFarlane ... 9 H.
