THE LATE MR W. H. LEVIN.
(PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.)
AYELLINGTON, September 20. In the opening of the Fine Arts Exhibition the Governor referred to the death of Mr W. H. Lenu in the following words :— "In Mr Levin this Academy, like all other objects of public interest, in New Zealand, has lost a great friend. It was a beautiful life that came to a close last week. If one like myself, who had only made the acquaintanca of Mr Levin during the past year, could feel such a, genuine and heartfelt regret as I do at his loss, what must be the feelings of those who knew him so long. His was a beautiful life. He spent his time in doing what good he could for his fellow creatures. He has left a noble example for us to try aud follow. I trust, I feel sure, that such a life as his must have p, good effect on those who knew him during his life.' .
