ALPHA RIFLE CLUB.
The second annual general meeting of the Alpha Martini-Henry Rifle Club was held at the Corn Exchange last evening, when I there was a fair attendance of members. Mr T. H. Anderson, Sub-Captain, was voted 'to the chair. Avologi.ee were received for ; the absence of Mr W. H. Wynn Williams, President, and several members of the Club. The report of the Committee congratulated members on the success of the past year's working of the Club. The Club nad been strengthened by the accession of several good shots, and the shooting showed an improvement on the previous year. It was recommended that the entrance fee should be reduced from 10s to 2s 6d, and that the price of ammunition should be ! guaranteed to members at 10s per 100 I rounds. It was recommended that a series of competitions ehould be carried out, the points' gained in the competition to count for the Championship of the Club, and that a sum of money be voted for the purpose of providing prizes for the competitions. It was recommended that Mr W. B. Scott, who had taken an aotivo part in the working of the Club since its formation, and who held the position of captain last season, be elected a life member of the Club in recognition of hie services. The balance-sheet audited by Messrs G. S. Ffitch and C. S. Howell showed that the receipts had been .£94 13s 3d, and expenditure £84 6s Bd, leaving *. credit balance of £10 6s 7d. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Rule 4 was altered to provide for the election of members by ballot. One black J ball in three to exclude. I Three new members were elected. The following officers were elected:— Patron, his Excellency Lord Onslow (subject to his consent); President, Mr W. H. Wynn Williams (re-elected); Vice-Presi-dents, Messrs J. Gould, W. Recce, R. Strnthera, R. H. Rhodes, W. JF. Warner, A. Gundersen, F. J. Smith, Eden fleorge, C. J. Wilson, and Dr. C M. Anderson; Captain, Mr T. H. Anderson; Sub-Captain, Mr A. Manning; Trustees, Captain and Sub-Gaptaio • Hon. Secretary, Mr E. Hardcastle (re-elected); Hon. Treasurer, Mr H. Garrard (re-elected); Committee, Messrs J. P» ©rake, A. W. Jones, G. A. Tozer, M. Robertson, J. B. Butler, F. S. Parker, H. S. Batchelor, and G. S. Ffitch; Range Committee, the Captain, Secretary, and Mr J. P. Drake: Selection Committee, the Captain, Sub-Captain, and Secretary. The question of a uniform was held over, and the purchase of an iron target and improvements to the range were left in the hands of the Committee. The sum of £b was voted for prizes for the practice competitions. : On the motion of Mr Hakdgast&k, seconded by Mr Gabkabd, Mr W. B. Scott was elected a life member of the Club. Votes of thanks to the retiring officers, donors of prizes, and to the Chairman, terminated the meeting.
