SCHOOL COMMITTEES.

FERRY ROAD. The first monthly, meeting of this Committee was held on Monday night. Present—Messrs J. Clarke (Chairman), J. M. Douglass (Secretary), J. Anderson, J. Coles, R. 9. McDiarmid, R. J. Offwood, and T. York. The Head Master's report showed that the average attendance for the last month had been 471, and that the roll number is 555. The list of irregular attenders was submitted and dealt with. It was reported that Mr Kennedy, the newly-appointed assistant master, began his duties on Tuesday, May 26th. Accounts amounting to about jei4 were passed for payment. The Were authorised to procure shingle, &c., for the grounds. The Prize Fund Committee reported satisfactory progress re concert and magic entertainment to be held on June 26th at Woolstoh,- ladies and gentlemen of high class vocal and instrumental talent having kindly consented to assist the prize fund.
