PARISH MEETINGS.

ST. MARK'S, OPAWA.

The Easter meeting of the church members ot this parish was held in St. Mark's schoolroom on Friday evening. April 3rd. The Yen Archdeacon Cholmondbley, the incumbent, presided, and briefly reviewed the principal features of the past parochial year, and called upon Mr March to submit the statement of accounts.

The churchwardens' report congratulated the parishioners on some tokens of progress. The attendance at the services, both morning and evening, had improved and the total amount raised by offertories showed an increase of £17 15s on tbe previous year. By the exertions of some of the ladies the sum of £55 7s 6d had been raised towards the repayment of a loan. On the motion of Mr Mabch, seconded by Mr Hablet, the statement of accounts was adopted. The Incumbknt nominated Mr George Scott as Churchwarden, and the Parishioners elected Mr P. C. Haultain. Tbe following were elected Vestrymen :— Messrt J, J. Thomson, C. S. Howell, W. Jameson, T. Brown, A. Morton Olllvler, E. S. Harley, C. Ewen, W. A. Thomas. Broadhurst, and D. Vincent. Mr McKellar was elected auditor.

Mr Jameson moved, and Mr MtjbbayAtnslet seconded, a hearty vote of thanks to Mr March for his services to the parish during tbe many years in which he held,the office of churchwarden, and expressed regret that his new duties prevented the continuance of his assistance in tbat capacity. The resolution was acknowledged by Mr March.

Votes of thanks Were also accorded to the choir, the Sunday school teachers, and to others who had exerted themselves to promote the welfare of the parish. The Chairman announced that preparations were being made to hold a Church gathering on the 21st, and that tbe Bishop proposed being with them on tbe occasion. The meeting then closed with the Benediction.
