The insurances will, cot in any way cover the loss. The plaftti was valued at £900, and there were 700 bags of seed ready for shipment Home yesterday. The building was insured Iα the Commercial Union for £160. 16 Iβ estimated there was about 3000 bags of seed in the buildings at the time of the fire, valued at about £80001. Mr Lees, the manager of the Com* pany, has been all over the Peninsula lately making purchases of seed for mo works. A good quantity of the seed will be saved; but It will to a certain extent be all damaged. Gangs of men were pat on to work yesterday mornlag.bagglQgSße seed which was not damaged, at tha street end of the building. Numbers ol the bags were only burnt at the ends, but the contents are saturated with water. It appears that the doors, both back and front, were open to the building at the time of the fire, and there is no doabfi but that the conflagration originated Sα the engine-house. There was a strong draught of air through the building at We time, which accounts lor the rapidity with which the flames spread.
