DISCOVERY OF COAL.
[PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.] DUNEDIN, November 23. A cample of coal recently- discovered at Catlin's has been forwarded to Professor .Black for aujMvsis. Trials have been made of otbeiV.mploe, with good results, these showing it to be good It. alep makes coke, asd leaves a residuum of clinker, showing it to be a true coal, the first of its kind found in Otago. In the same locality ironstone and liiae exist, bat to what extent is not yet known.
