PORT VICTORIA.

' A meeting of the Port Victoria Road Board was held at Teddington on Thursday, May Bth. Messrs W. Gebbie aud Hugh Mianeon, elected, and Mr Orton Bradley, re-elected, took their seats on the Board. Mr T. S. Manaon aud Mr Tapley were also present. Mr Orton Bradley was re-elected Chairman. Mr T. 8. Manson moved, and Mr W. Gebbie seconded—" That a section of ploughing and scooping be done from the school to Thomas' gate, also from Brydone'a to Mrs Gebbie's gate, Messrs Hugh and T. S. Manson to lay the work off." Carried. Tenders were invited for carting and spreading the various heaps of metal. The Chairman reported that the Native rate had been received. Mr TapJey was authorised to gee , some work done on the Dyer's Pass road. Mr Gebbie proposed and Mr Tapley seconded—" That Messrs Manson, Bradley and Gebbie louk at the bridge in St. Patrick's Gully and see what had better be done to it." Carried. Mr Hugh Manson and the Chairman were empowered to sign cheques for the ensuing year. The Chairman was instructed to see Inspector Pender with a view to getting a mounted trooper stationed in Lyttelton. Payments to the amount of £7 13s lid were made. The meeting Chen adjourned.
