CANTERBURY TROTTING ASSOCIATION.
The monthly meeting of this Association 1 was held last evening at the Empire HoteL The Lower Heathcote Racing Club's programme, including galloway and pony flat races, was passed for September 2nd. : The last meeting was held May 25th. The ! Association objected to pass the pro- | gramme of the Canterbury Trotting Club 'for a meeting proposed to be held on ' August 29th, and a resolution was passed to the effect that in the event of the C.T.C. sending In an application for a meeting to be held about one month later, a special meeting would be held to consider it. Some proposed additions to rules were discussed, one being iv the direction of giving affiliated Clubs not devoted exclusively to trotting, the privileges of the Association; the first year on payment of the affiliation fee, afterwards a fee of £1 ls per year to be the fixed contribution of Clubs holding one or more trotting races during the season. It is satisfactory to note that the Association has taken a stand to prevent the frequency of meetings. *>
