«. [By Telegraph.] [FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT.] BEEFTON, August 6. Progress—Repeated breakages at the battery are reported to have impeded the continuing of the crushing. There has _ot been much doing on 'change to-day. Inkerman's are firm at from 168 6d to 16s 9d. Nil Desperandums are quoted at 3s (sellers.) Scotia remain stationary at about lis; Rewards, lid. Keep-it-Dark are quoted at between 31s 6d to 325. The price of Inkerman's given is nett.
The sudden death of Mr Ashman, a sharebroker, disorganised business to some extent to-day, and the business places are partly closed. The funeral to-morrow will further disarrange business. The deceased was a shareholder and Director in several Cpmpanies, and was very highly esteemed. [PRESS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.] DUNEDIN, August 6. Sew Hoy's dredge obtained 116oza of retorted gold for twelve days' work.
