WAIPARA.
The ordinary meeting of the above Board was on Tuesday, October 2nd. Present—Messrs J. P. Lance (Chairman), J. Lance, H. J. Hall, H, F. Recce, and •las. Little. The ordinary routine business having been dealt with, the following correspondence was read:—From John Dalzell, asking for extension of time for completion of his contract. Granted. Mrs Tulley, asking to have her name placed on the roll with respect to sections owned by her. Granted. From the National Mortgage Company, stating that they had ceased to occupy certain (portion of sections 75, 39, and asking the Board to make the necessary alceration on the roll. Granted. G. H. Lifford, re Blythe road. The Board decided to pay Mr Lifford £50 on completion of certain works. R. F. Croft, asking for further improvements in his road. Deferred for the present. Deputations.—Mr Greenwood, asking to form a portion of the old Teviot Dale, and offered to pay cost of same (some £30), provided the Board would refund the amount next year. The Board accepted Mr Greenwood's offer. Mr Costello, stating that section 33447, owned by him, only contains 110 acres instead of 264 acres, and objecting to pay the rates on the balance as demanded. The Clerk was instructed to obtain the necessary information from the Land Office re the difference. The Engineer's report was then read and adopted. The Engineer was instructed to put in a 2ft culvert at Barnes , , and to erect a fence round the public and church cemeteries. It was decided to hold the next meeting on Saturday, November 3rd, instead of the 6th. Accounts amounting to £137 5s were passed for payment, and the Board adjourned.
