PORT VICTORIA.
The usual monthly meeting of this Board was held in the Board's office, Teddington, on Tuesday, October 2nd. Present—Messrs Allan, Tapley, Fitton, and Anderson, the latter in the chair in the absence of Mr Bradley through illness. Notice was received from Bloor and Co. that they cannot proceed with section No. 1 of their contract, as they will not have time before the ground jzets too dry. The Board decided to call for fresh tenders for the same at once. The metal authorised to be broken at Case Bay being completed, it was decided not to have the same carted out at present, the season being so far advanced. The railings having been broken on Manson's bridge, it was agreed to have the same replaced at once. Tenders for clearing gorse on roads through the Ohinetahi estate and by Mr Ellisdon's section having been opened, that of W- Cowlin for the portion by Ellisdon's at Ss per chain was accepted, and that of G. Wailis on Upper I road, through the Ohinetahi estate, one section at 4s per chain, and the other at 7s per chain. No tender being received for the clearing on Beach road, tenders were : again callea for the same. After passing accounts for payment, the Board adiourned.
