Sir Graham Berry has been instructed to use his influence to obtain Admiral Field's authority for the statement recently made by the House of Commons, that any number of members in the Victorian Assembly could be bribed. LOCAL OPTION. Adelaide, July 21. Replying to a deputation the Premier promised to amend the Licensing Act of next session in the direction of local option, provided compensation to publicans were agreed to.
THE STAR OF GREECE. At the Marine Board, inquiry into the loss of the Star of Greece, the Court delivered judgment to the effect that the evidence showed manifest want of skill in navigation on the part of the master, resulting to the wreck.
