[press association telegram.] WELLINGTON, September 9. The result of the Northern Maori Election is as follows:—

Taiwhanga 785 Kateno 4SI Poihipi ..411 Wharerau US Pomare S8 Arapata 26 The returns from the forty-six stations for the Western Maori electorate show:— TeWheoro 952 Taipua 912 Oraisbv 129 Kketore 124 Mote Kingi 33 There are still a number of returns to come in from up the Wanganui river and the Thames, which are expected to be in faror of Taipua. There are no further returns from the Southern district. Later returns from the East Coast do not affect Mr Carroll's position.
