I; The monthly meeting of this Board was ' held on the Ist inst, Present—Messrs Thompson (Chairman), Marsh, and Haydon. Mr J. Campion, interviewed the! Board re storm water, and suggested sinking the roadside ditch for a few chains. The Board objected to this being done unless Mr Campion ahared the cost. Correspondence waa read —From the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board, enclosing copies of receipts and expenditure of the institutions under their control for the year ending 81st- March, 1886. From the Selwyn County Council, asking for information regarding small I'irds, and for an expression of opinion re the introduction of stoats, weasels, &c.; also enc*o3ing cheque for the sum of JEI7 10s, dog fees for the quarter ending 31st March. Eeeplved—That the Clerk supply the information required, and the Council be informed that the Board strongly object to the introduction of ground vermin of any kind. From the Tai Tapu Boad Board, a&ing that the supervision of future contracts for cleaning, &c.,the Halawell boundary river, be placed in their hands with a view to letting the whole length in one contract. Consideration deferred. The clerk's reportwas considered, and his recommendation to place a row of pipes across the Waterholes road at Wilson's agreed to. Tendera were considered for enlarging the roadside ditch on .the Tancred and Halswell road, and that of H. Faulkner accepted at 2e 4Jd per chain. €f. Eastefbrook's offer of JS2 10s per-annum for Beserve No. 219, for five years, was Accepted. Besolved that the levying of the road i-ate stand over. Accounts, amounting to J855 11s 6d were paesed for payment, and several minor matters attended to, and the meeting closed. :, 1:
