SOUTH MALVERN.
The Board met on Wednesday. All the members were present. The chairman read correspondence from the Secretary for Public Works, stating that the sum of £141 10s, the balance of last year's grant, and referring to the South Malvern Hills road. The chairman stated that he had replied in accordance with instructions received from the Board. Tenders for 'the South Malvern Hills road were opened, and one for £897 5s was recommended to Government for acceptance. A committee was appointed to inspect and pass Topple and Stephenson's contract. Accounts amounting £61 7a were passed for payment. After some discussion relative to Russell's Flat and Selwyn Valley road, which has been recently surveyed, the chairman was requested to write again to the Government, urging them to make provision for its construction, and also to inquire into the Road Diversions Nos 1, 2, and 3. After the transaction of some routine business the meeting was adjourned to the first Wednesday in July.
