GIFT EVENING

GATHERING AT. OTAKIRI ; A very pleasant evening Avas recently held in the Otakiri Hall when a large gathering of friends sssem- ; bled to honour Miss Mavis Woodberry prior to her marriage. The evening was spent in dancing to ' music supplied by Mrs Armstrong ' and other friends. Mrs Armstrong " also rendered two appropriate songs. Before supper was served Mr Beat- ' tie, in a few well chosen words, ex- ' pressed the esteem in which Miss Woodberry was held by her. many friends. Little Beryl Leslie presented the guest of honour Avith a beaul tiful bouquet of golden beautelon .. and fern, made by Mrs Hallett, after which Miss Wooberry was called upon to open the numerous gifts including many cheques. 1 Mr C. Wannop suitably responded ' on behalf of Miss Woodberry, thanking the many friends for the beaiiti-* ful gifts received. I The evening concluded- with the ' singing of Auld Lang Syne. -^.
