STATE TENANTS' VOTE
• OPINION OF COUNTY COUNCIL "That it is thisi considered opinion, that unless the State acknowledges responsibility for full rates, its tenants •should have no voting- rigjits and then such, voting should be restricted to such number of votes as the State as rsoul owner would exercise," was the resolution of yesterdays' meeting of the Whakatane County Council, when a letter was received from the Provincial Secretary of the Farmers' Union. The Union expressed cern regarding the position "which might arise as a result ' of? State tenants whoi are residV l ing in County areas being, given full voting powers for County elections.
