CHEQUE FORGED At the monthly sitting of liie Opotiki Children's Court, a farmhand aged 17 years wasi charged ■with knowingly forging a cheque lor 10s purporting to be signed bv his emploj-er. He was further charged vHth causing a person to act upcheque as* genuine. The Police said that after seeing "his employer fifl.l in the cheque, accused took a cheque form from the book and kept it. He later filled ii in for 10s and signed his employer's name', cashing the cheque. However, the police Avere informed and they were able to apprehend the boy and recover the money the same evening. Accused was pjlaced under ihfi supervision of the child welfare officer for 12 months.
