CLASHES BETWEEN JEWS AND ARABS

BRITISH SOLDIER DIES IN HOSPITAL

London, Jan. 16

There has been more fighting between Jews and Arabs in widelyscattered parts of Palestine today. During a gun fight in Haifa, a British officer was shot in the leg by an unknown attacker. Later a British soldier was stabbed and wounded by an Arab.

In Tel Aviv a British soldier was shot in the head and has since died in hospital. Further south, a lorry load of ten Arab labourers was attacked by armed Jews. Three of the Arabs were wounded.
