FOURTH DAY OF FAST

MR GANDHI WEAK BUT CHEERFUL EFFORTS TO FIND SOLUTION TO DIFFICULTIES London, Jan. 16. Mr Gandhi is now ending the fourth day of his fast for communal peace. Earlier today doctors reported that he was weak but cheerful and a later bulletin says his present condition is unchanged. At his prayer meeting today, Mr Gandhi spoke through a-microphone to a crowd gathered outside. He said: "I have no wish to live unless there is peace in India and Pakistan." He also issued a statement welcoming India's decision to fulfil an agreement with Pakistan. He said that it was not a gesture of weakness. He hoped that the gesture would lead to a solution of the present differences. '
