CONTINUATION OF WATT CUP SERIES RAILWAY CLUB BEATS MOUNT MAUNGANUI A match in the Watt Cup competition, between the Railway and Mount Maunganui clubs last.weekend, resulted in a comfortable win for the Railway club by 14 matches to two.
The following are the detailed results, Railway club names being mentioned first in each instance:—
Men’s singles: A. White lost to H. Woodcraft 6-0, 3-6, 5-7; E. Royal beat H. Hardy 6-5, 5-6, 6-2; W. Patrick beat B. Seabourne 6-3, 6-2; W. Ede beat J. Thompson 6-0, 6-3. Women’s singles; Miss Hassell beat Mrs Woodcraft 3-6, 6-1, 6-0; Mrs Coldwell beat Miss Rankin 6-1, 5- 7-5; Mrs Patrick beat Mrs Clarke 6-5, 6-2; Miss Parkinson beat Mrs Hutton 2-6, 6-3, 7-5. Men’s doubles: White and Ede lost to Woodcraft and Hardy 6-4, 1-6, 2-6; Patrick and Royal beat Seabourne and Thompson 6-3, 5-6, 6-4.
