CRICKETERS ASTIR
PROSPECTS FOR SEASON AT LEAST SIN TEAMS Tauranga lovers of the grand game of cricket are beginning to bestir themselves, and in spite of the difficulties of the times there is every reason for anticipating that the season, which, it is expected, will open about the end of this month, will be the most successful experienced for
many years. So far as can be ascertained at present at least six teams will be entered in this season's competition, owing mainly to the keen enthusiasm being displayed by the Services, and the competition promises to be full of interest.
Already considerable good work has been carried out by members of the High School Cricket Club in preparing the wickets, which should be in good order by the time the season opens.
Detailed arrangements for the season will be made at a general meeting of the Tauranga Cricket Association, which is to be held at the Tauranga District High School at 7.30 on Tuesday evening next, and it is hoped that all cricketers and others interested in the game will make a special effort to attend.
