Mr G. S. Butler, on being elected to the chair, outlined the object •of forming Ihe Association. General discussion took place and it was unanimously decided 1 that a Cricket Association be formed in Tauranga. Election of Officers. The election of officers resulted as follows: President.—Mr G. S. Butler. Vice-President.—Mr’ W. Stevens, , Secretary.—Mr W. Whiting. Treasurer.—Mr G. L. Green, Executive Committee.— Messrs K. Probers, H H. Hay, A. T. Buxton, G. l\esl, and one delegate from each Club. Affiliation I’ec. It was decided that the affiliation fee for dubs to the Association be 6d per member of each Chib, the fee to be paid before the opening day. Affiliation of Association. A motion that the Association Aftilate with the Bay of Plenty Cricket Sub-Association was not carried as if was the general opinion that the time was not opportune and that the standard of play locally should be improved before the Association enters a team in outside competition. Practice Nights. Tuesday and Thursday nights were set down for practice. Opening Day. After discussion it was decided that the opening day be held on Sunday, November 1. Arrangements are being made to hold all-day matches. General, Mr W. Stevens generously offered to allow the Committee to hold its meetings in his shop. Wednesday clubs have already played several games and the Saturday games will commence to-morrow.
