The conference between the coahniners and owners terminated abruptly, the former rejecting the owners' offer to abide absolutely by the decisions of the tribunal to be appointed by jVi'r Hughes. Meanwhile the owners are increasing the wages of all the lower paid men to 14s 6d. The miners sought £1 per day for all the lcnver-paid men. Stopwork meetings will be he'd on Wednesday, at which the miners' executive will recommend non acceptance of the owners' proposals.
