WASHINGTON, March 1.6.
The Ilouse of Representatives' Committee on Naval Affairs has approved of the appropriation of half -a- million dollars to raise the wreck of the United f tates cruiser Maine, the blowing up of which in Havana Harbour on February 16, 1898, precipitated the Spanish -American war. This action is taken because the wreck is reported to be a menace to naviga'ion.
