THIRD ANNIVERSARY

CATHOLIC SERVICES' CLUB

The third anniversary of the Catholic Services' Club, together with Victory Thanksgiving celebrations, contributed to a memorable night in the history of the club. Bishop Liston and the Mayor and Mayoress, Mr. and Mrs. Allum, were the guests of honour, and several hundred servicemen and women were present. Mr. G. J. Browne, chairman of the club, welcomed the guests. The club rooms had been specially decorated by Miss Rosa Heighton with patriotic drawings intermingled with large V signs. Fitting tributes were paid by speakers to the fine work that has been carried out by the club in. providing hospitality and entertainment to men and women in the forces. Dancing and community singing were enjoyed.
