N.Z. CONGRATULATIONS
MR. CHURCHILL'S BIRTHDAY (P.A.) WELLINGTON, Wednesday. "It is with the greatest personal pleasure I send on behalf of the Government* and people of New Zealand warmest congratulations and sincere good wishes on your birthday," says the Prime Minister, Mr. Fraser, in a message to Mr. Churchill on the occasion of his 70th birthday to-morrow. "New Zealand people of both races join me in voicing heartfelt gratitude for your inspired and devoted leadership of the British Commonwealth and Empire in these fateful years. It is the fervent wish of all pf us that after the achievement of final victory you may be spared to enjoy your life in the free world you have defended so faithfully and well. "Mrs. Fraser joins me in sending warmest personal regards to Mrs. Churchill and yourself." AUCKLAND GREETINGS The Mayor, Mr. Allum, has sent the following cablegram to Mr. Churchill:— "On behalf of myself and the councillors and citizens of Auckland, I send you felicitations on your seventieth birthday, with the earnest hope that you will enjoy, in peace, manj' happy returns of the day. May I be permitted to take this opportunity again to express our thankfulness for j-our wonderful example of fortitude and determination, and gratitude for your outstanding leadership, which has been such a potent factor in the successful war effort."
